T-Shirts Headed For Pflugerville, Texas Pfest

Austin designed a new Skyview Apartments T-Shirt to be given away at the Pflugerville Deutschen Pfest this Saturday. If they haven’t already arrived, 500 should arrive tomorrow. We will also be giving away Koozies.  Plus we are suppose to have a plane flying over pulling a SkyviewApartments.com Banner. Our goal is to make an impact and to get the word out about Skyview Apartments.

Update on Vacancy: Roscoe Properties rented 3 and 3 moved out for a net gain of Zero. While this might not sound like good news, remember we are transforming these apartments so some tenant exiting can be expected. Plus with a complex of this size 3 to 10 units turn each month. At least we did not lose any ground.

Baby doves

Donna and I just returned home today. While we don’t have any updates on the birds in our backyard we did get to watch a pair of doves nesting on Winnie’s patio. What was so fascinating was how they would change the guard with each one taking a 12 hour shift. The pair have two little ones in the nest just starting to feather. I am told they will fledge in just two weeks. According to Winnie, the parents will leave and let the little ones get hungry to force them to fledge when it is time. Also, what was cool they did not seem to mind us being on the patio. I took a couple of pictures with my i-Phone.

All the best,

Carlos, Donna and Austin

Austin has done it again! The tee shirts are terrific!

Great T-Shirt, would make me want to take a look, especially the playground, knowing what kind of owl playground you can build!

May 17, 2011 – Like, Did You Really Think We Were Going to Leave
    https://mollysbox.wordpress.com/2011/05/17/like-did-you-really-think-we-were-going-to-leave/

You will find some great photos here – a trifecta of the first three finishers of the four owlets of the Third Clutch who raced to the Owl Box to see who would get there faster for the evening games and treats in the Royal Gardens and playground.

Carlos ends his thoughts in this posting with, “One more time, we will be watching. Will they return or will they go? The fun should start around eight tonight Pacific Standard Time.” Read the first part of his thoughts to enjoy a step into this time last year!

Now in 2012, new time, new place, new fans will look up into the sky while exclaiming – “is that a bird? No it’s a plane! What does that banner say? It’s Skyview, ahhh, it says Apartments – let’s check it out!” The fun should double during the Pflugerville Pfest as the crowds are delighted with the gorgeous t-shirts – the kind of design you wear because it looks good!

Ahhhhh, the Molly Motto is good for all, “Gee, this is fun, and we are a part of it!”

    What a wonderful logo design!

Austin has certainly got the family talent for sure!

As for the apartments; they sound absolutely divine! You will be filled with waiting list for sure!

The doves are so cute but sounds like not so little for long!

There was a pair of doves near our condo but could not see them since they had the nest hidden where we could not see. We did hear them though and was fun to watch them as they flew back and forth. We love to hear the sounds they would make as they called back and forth to each other.

Thank you so much for keeping me and all of the other MODS and everyone up to date on everything.

As PegRod said in regards to the Molly Motto,
“Gee, this is fun, and we are a part of it”.

Oh I knew you would get Pflugerville to Pfly!! Best of Luck and I think it will definitely work. Maybe pipe in some Barlycorn music at the Pfest? These Pflugervillians are finally gonna learn what “fun” really is! Whoo Hoo!

    • PegRod Says:

Pfly …. lol ….. clever and great suggestion about the Molly Music! Austin might also think about donating a couple of sets of the Molly Movies to the local library or schools, or arrange to have them purchase some … or one of the MODs might just order some to donate!

  9. drsballou Says:

Thank you for the story of the baby doves, it warms my heart.
The t-shirts are great. If I lived in the area and was looking for an apartment, they would catch my eye. Since I have both a child and pets (and it is so hard to find apartments that take both), if I saw someone walking down the street with that shirt on, I would stop them and ask about it!

    Love all your posts.

  10. drsballou Says:

oh, and including the playground is fantastic, that would really make me want to go see them too, it’s hard for kids to live without their own yard, but with a huge playground like that…I know my child would be excited!

May 18, 2011 – Owlets Have It Too Good
    https://mollysbox.wordpress.com/2011/05/18/3357/

Last year at this time Carlos reports, “Molly and McGee can tweet and the rains can come but the owlets are not leaving. All four were having a ball last night and getting plenty to eat.” Carlos shares some great still life photos of the owlets with rodentia (a mouse in this case).

Remember the Rodent Equivalency Chart? You can find it right here on Molly’s Blog!
    https://mollysbox.wordpress.com/2010/04/09/rodent-equivalency-chart/

New readers may not know what the word “Chart Pages” in the index on this blog means. Well, take a look and delve into the detailed and 24 hour observations recorded by devoted MODs for Molly and McGee’s First Clutch! Barn owls daily (nightly) diets are nature’s way of controlling the populations of a variety of rodents!
    https://mollysbox.wordpress.com/chart-pages/

This Annals of Texas, online edition, is a reference used by some moderators of all the clutches to explain the “Order Rodentia” – look now we are in Texas!

This link takes you to a survey done by California Fish and Game around a river area, and although it is closer to Vacadude’s Vacaville than M&M’s San Marcos, CA, the rodentia are similar – scroll down to see a list of the Order Rodentia. Those names will look familiar to those who watched discussions of the treats that Molly and McGee delivered. Wherever you live you can Google a list specific to your area!

For the first time, I have a pair of Mourning Doves in my backyard this year. Not sure where their nest is, but saw them with a young fledging on my patio the other day. Wish I knew as much about them as I do about Barn Owls(thanks to Carlos.LOL

    Annular Solar Eclipse Alert
Around sunset from California to Texas!
    Sunday, May 20, 2012

John “VacaDude” Atkinson combines science and art in many lessons. Last night’s VacaChat included a very interesting and helpful educational lesson about the upcoming Annular Solar Eclipse, which will be seen from California to Texas! Watch this and learn, and don’t forget to guard your eyes with proper eclipse watching “stuff”. In Southern California, it will be visible before sunset, at around 6:30 pm, in Texas, just about at sunset. So fly the banner on Saturday, so Pfest-goers are not blinded by the light!

    • PegRod Says:

PS – Skyview might just be the place to watch the solar eclipse after the Pflugerville Pfest on Pfsunday!

  14. mandozee1888 Says:

Carlos: Glad to hear your plans for the apartments. I live in a apartment building and people come and go often…though I’ve been here for years. hope you have fun at the festival. Get a picture of the plane if you can that would be cool to see. Mandozee1888

  15. Jo-Ann Says:

I feed the wild birds and I have Doves come to feed. I always put food on the patio bricks for them as they don’t go to the bird feeder… I love the way they walk. They usually (not always) come in pairs or alone and sometimes come in threes. Thanks for the update on Pflugerville.. good luck with getting at least a 99% pfyll complex…

  16. Linda Howard Says:

I like the t-shirts! I live near Pflugerville, 14 mi. to Skyview from my apt. I wish my apartment had a fenced dog park area where dogs could interact off leash. We do have pet potty areas with poop bags and a disposal can available.
I enjoy my apartment, with it’s neutral colored walls(sand), that way all my color schemes work in every room. Does Skyview have a pool?
I haven’t used my apartments pools yet, but I’m sure I will when the grand kids are out of school.
Hope I can make it to the festival, I have to work at 4 pm.

How very clever—T-shirts and a Pflying banner. These will definitely catch the attention of many. Have fun at the Pfest.

  19. Theresa Atkins Says:

Thanks for the info on the doves. They usually nest on top of my apartment air conditioner which I hardley ever use and I never could figure out why the parents disappear. Now I know…tough love.
Sounds like you are doing well with the apartments.

May 19, 2011 – Day 90 And Still At Home (Not Alone)
    https://mollysbox.wordpress.com/2011/05/19/day-90-and-still-at-home-not-alone/

“The Look” seems to be the theme for these six sensational photos from last year, Who can get that priceless look on their owlet face to charm Molly or McGee into bringing “Just one more treat, please, and make it bigger since I am big now!”? The last photo has the caption, “Don’t you wish you looked this good?” with that captivating over-the-shoulder hypnotizing glance. These owlets still hold the power and are not willing to let it go yet. Although at day 80 some say that barn owls are “officially an adult”, every creature on earth is an individual, every family is different, and every time and season has its changes….

Carlos writes such a fun and descriptive entry. Here is just the second paragraph, “Have you noticed that since we did not name these owlets that they seem to be working on a group name such as Charlie’s Angels or The A-Team but last night they looked more like the Three Stooges with you look over there, no I’ll look here, no you look here and I’ll look over there. They also had a great time playing musical chairs going from the West end of the front porch to the photo posing ledge to the North, then to the East end of the front porch, check the box, then move back to West end of the front porch were they started. It seemed they moved every time they heard a noise in the distance as they called out to Molly and McGee, “Where’s dinner?””

Read more for lots ot descriptive treats for your mind, and one alert about an upcoming treat from New York City!

  21. erindort Says:

Austin, you created another great terrific design! I was thinking how great it would look on a Pflugerville billboard. Now THAT would attract attention!!

  22. sandy/Racoona Says:

Nice work on the t-shirts! Also, i have had dove nests in the past, and it is amazing on how the pair share their duties…so cute, and they let me get close to catch a peek!
