World  famous Owl DVD producer Austin Faure will be annoucing his first Molly & McGee T-Shirt design next week. It will be his first release using the skills and techniques he has learned at Platt College.  All the proceeds go directly to his college fund. He has now completed 3 courses with all “A’s,” and one of his projects was selected to be published in the School’s Brochure for 2012.  We could be looking at the next Picasso or Andy Warhol. Think about it,  a First Edition.  We will keep you posted.

Thanksgiving is right around the corner. Can you believe how fast this year has gone by? I can’t believe how fast 50 years have gone by. Why are we still here? We are waiting on some repair parts to come in for the motor home.

Count your blessing,

Carlos, Donna and Austin

Wow, Austin sure has caught the entreprenurial spirit from his Grampa.

Speedy returns to camper life on the road.

    Happy trails!

    Vicki

  2. Joyce Hebert aka jamma Says:

that is one of the best pictures of mcgee ever…his face is very impressive…hope you get on the trail soon…keep the post coming…

  3. PegRod Says:

Great news all around! Congratulations Austin – way to go!

Love the screenshot of McGee peering into Lenz. Thank you for sharing it with us. Owl Box Watchers have learned that the “part” in the common barn owl’s forehead, where the two facial disks of feathers meet, when open, means he is relaxed in The Owl Box, his “Home, Sweet Home” in the Royal Gardens of San Marcos, California. At first, many fans thought it was a Harry Potter-like scar, but we learned so much about owl physiology since the first live broadcast began in February 2010.

Thanksgiving – yes, we give Thanks!

McGee looks spectacular as usual. Thanks for keeping us posted. Looking forward to the new T-shirt. Congrats to Austin on all his accomplishments!
P.S. Carlos, for my annual pre trick or treating family and friends dinner, I put two pork tenderloins in the crockpot with your famous barbeque sauce in the morning and we had DELICIOUS pulled pork sandwiches before we hit the streets with the kids. A big hit with everyone! Thanks for sharing the recipe!!

Last year, at this time, Carlos and Donna were visiting the South Rim of the Grand Canyon on their Royal Retirement Adventures and they shared the fun with fans via Molly’s blog. In this post, Carlos shares a great photograph he took of an “Abert’s Squirrel” and provides a mini-lesson on the varieties of tassel-eared squirrels. From the lighting in the photo, you can tell that it was a stupendous day weather-wise!

Carlos also provides a link to the Grand Canyon site, which I looked at last year and found all kinds of free educational information in pdf format to download. The first one is on the history of the “Quest for the Pillar of Gold”! Of course, much more is available including t-shirts and children’s books, etc, to support the preservation of the Grand Canyon.

By reading Molly’s blog from a year ago, you can travel back in time and see Owl Box history unfolding before your eyes, as the first Christmas cards are being created by Chris, Austin’s first DVD is being reproduced again according to requests, the City Council of San Marcos is planning to honor Austin and the Royals for fundraising for wildlife and nature for the Community Foundation, and Eric Blehm is deciding whether to publish a coffee table book of the Second Clutch of Molly & McGee, since so many fans have requested a book of their beloved Ashley and Carrie – I wonder if he ever published that book? LOL It is now a one-of-a-kind splendid limited edition in the hands of Second Clutch fans (or proudly displayed on a coffee table) with very few copies left!

So much to be thankful for!

  17. Sue Couch Says:

McGee!! Whee!! What a treat, Carlos. Thank you! Congrats to Austin. I’ll look forward to seeing T-shirt. Love the kestralurkey! Thanks for keeping this community together.

    Have a grand, magical day!

Most Owl Box fans may not have seen the Collection of Owl Box Haiku and Other Poems (from 2010), which is found on the Molly the Owl Wiki site. Watching The Owl Box with others lit the flame of creativity in many. During this intermission, you might want to read through a few, and have a few laughs and tears, via the creative words of others!

One of the colors is Barn Owl!
    It’s really beautiful.

    And Carlos:
Thanks for the picture of our beautiful McGee. I do miss them.

Carlos, I went shopping for some new Christmas tree ornaments and the store had a soft fuzzy owl, which I just had to buy. There was only one left, so I have a reminder of Molly and McGee each time I look at my tree.
