  1. Cindy Says:

Thanks Royal family. You’ve given me lots of happy memories. Been a pleasure to have been on your site not only to meet you all but to “chat” for the first time ever for me. I’ve met some wonderful people on line and at the EBar in San Marcos.
Fingers crossed we will have the opportunity to see Molly and McGee share another family with us in the future.

  2. Becky Says:

Well, bless your hearts. You’ve certainly given this adventure your all; all your time, energy and many talents. I thank you from my heart for all you’ve done for so many. Your efforts have brought so many smiles to so many and gave some of us a place to find friendship when we’ve felt lonely. When I was losing my brother to cancer, I could go to this website from some brief relief from my sadness. I’ve learned so much about barn owls, the kindness of others, and esp. your generosity of spirit. You’ve made me laugh. If I can be the kind of grandparent you’ve been to Austin, I’ll be a spectacular grandma. May God continue to bless and keep you and make His face shine on you. Best of luck to you Austin in your future. You’re a super star. THanks for everything. I’ll really miss seeing Molly and McGee but can just pop in my dvd anytime to see them. I’m glad I was part of it. Peace.

  3. Martha (calliopekid) Says:

It is with much sadness that I read this message. Is there some reason that you decided it was time to let go?
This is a pretty serious letdown for so many of us. I wish you and Donna well in your next adventure, but will miss youall so much.
    With tears in my eyes,
    Thank you for the memories,
    Martha (calliopekid)

  4. janie2 Says:

Carlos, you, Donna, and Austin have given us a great gift. I know it has consumed your lives at times and we can’t tell you how much we appreciate all you have done for us.

    Thank you so much!!

  5. Wow. What a journey it’s been.

This has been fun and we’ve been a part of it. I’ve met so many wonderful life long friends because of Molly and McGee.

And of course, because of you Carlos. Your generosity in allowing us this view of an owl box. The lives of a pair of two wonderful loving owls and their children. OK, their owlets.

It’s been quite a wonderful ride, and I shall miss it more then words can say. I shall miss your commentary about the comings and goings of Molly and McGee. I have received my second CD. I haven’t watched it yet, but plan on watching it today.

Take care Carlos, Donna and Austin. Good luck to Austin on your college career. You WILL be missed.

Will you be having a good bye show on the 31st?

With warmest regards and a great big huge Thank You for all you’ve done and for the friendships that have been created.
Darlene Salisbury in Oregon from SPO.

Thanks to the Royal family, Carlos, Donna and Austin for your time, knowledge and warmth you have provided to the viewers. Today is my birthday and this was not the present I wanted, but I am so grateful for all you have given us. Carlos, we will miss you as much as Molly and McGee. It has been a pleasure to know you and your wonderful family. Hey, I’m not crying. I have allergies. That’s my story and I’m stickin’ to it.

  16. Lee Carlsbad Says:

CHEERS! for the Carlos Royal family, Carlos, Donna, Austin..and those “Famous Owls”

Words don’t seem to be coming for the gratitude I feel for what ‘the owl box’ and YOU ALL have given to the many.

But, you know what? … the joy and love will be in our hearts, forever!!!

  17. peakspike Says:

I’m sure many will join me in wishing you all the best in whatever adventures all of you choose. And I know that I’m not the only person who will really, really miss checking on M&M on a near multi-daily basis. All of your efforts are appreciated, especially the parts about learning about owls. Be safe in your travel! And be sure and make it FUN!

PS: An update blog now and then would be a grand treat! You all have made us feel like family!

Enjoy your family and life to the fullest and maybe next spring you’ll consider turning the camera on again, who knows! All my best, Melodie Penton North Haven, Ct.

  25. dianne wisse Says:

I only just discovered Molly and McGee and I’m losing them already! can anyone else continue with them? will they be kicked out of their home? where will they go?!!!!!

  26. Mary Weber Says:

You three have added a new interest to my life. I thank you for the learning experience and the many touching moments, not the least of which was watching four owlets crowded into that box in your back yard, waiting to mature so that they could fly and hunt in freedom and observing how the parent owls unfailingly provided their daily meals and guarded their safety. I will continue to check in with the blog for your outstanding nature photos and updates. All best wishes to you,

  27. Carlos and Donna, This is sad for us, but understandable, since very little activity at the box these days, and a rich life ahead of YOU!!! We thank you for so many wonderful days and months of this secretive watching the intricacies and beauties of real wildlife. I have some owl art I would like to share with you should you film again when they have another clutch. I hope this finds you all in good health. Blessings along your road.

    Donna, Carlos and Austin,
You’ve all changed our lives and given us reason to smile each day as we watched our owl family expand and fledge, with all of nature’s surprises, joys and sorrows in between. I wish you all the best on your adventures and thank you from the bottom of my heart for all you’ve given us. You are very precious to me.

Molly, Molly, we watch you from afar…

    With love and gratitude,

  35. Kim Gorman Says:

Carlos, we’ll always have your wonderful speech at the community college where you gave the whole history of the Molly phenomenon. You have brightened all of our lives immensely and been such an inspiration, as have Donna, Austin, Eric, Chris and John. May God continue to bless your journeys. Fly free, Molly and McGee.. and Carlos and Donna, too! :(

  36. Holly Sue Says:

I’m so glad to have the beautiful books and DVDs to relive our time together! Have wonderful adventures, and enjoy your studies, Austin! I’ll keep hope in my heart that you may come back on to share with us in the future. Please keep in touch on the blog! Meanwhile, may God bless you all with great health and happiness!
Love to all of you! Holly Sue

  37. Susan Belloff Says:

Wow! I did not expect to read that message. For some reason I had been thinking that you were back to broadcasting the Owl Box and that eventually there would be a fourth clutch to watch. But I was also wondering why, because I knew how much you and Donna like to travel and that Austin is away at college. So now that the shock of the message is wearing off, I guess I am not totally surprised.
It has been a great experience and I am taking away so many memories as well as a new appreciation of owls. I will also never forget the Carlos family. It has been fun to get to know you even though you haven’t the faintest idea of who I am. :)
The last time I tuned into the Owl Box, you were cleaning the lens and I laughed out loud when you turned and waved the rag as you descended to the few of us who were watching at that moment. It was so Carlos-like. As for Molly, McGee and their offspring…what can one say? It was a once in a lifetime opportunity to watch one pair of owls and their 3 clutches.
My favorite memory as of late is your and Austin’s trips to the hunting grounds. I literally was laughing my head off when the table fell in the gopher hole and Austin’s chair leg fell into another, as well as when you and Austin went to the car to get the battery and those sneaky little owls popped up and we could all see them but you had no idea because down they went as soon as you approached. Reality viewing at its best!
I have ordered Austin’s second DVD and look forward to receiving it. Loved the trailer. If you have time, I wish you would post what the music is that he used for the trailer. I love it.
Good luck in your new adventures and once again, thanks for all the great times and the wonderful memories. I am certainly glad i was part of all the fun!
I read your blog religiously so I will keep up that way…

  38. Donna Koski Says:

Only send me email if something new with Molly and if Carlos turns box back on. Other wise my email is full of comments and that is way too many

    Thank you

  39. yay owls Says:

    Carlos, Donna, Austin,

Will try to follow the advice of Dr. Seuss, “Don’t cry because it’s over. Smile because it happened.”

Thanks for your kindness and the many, many smiles.

  40. SactoSylvia Says:

Carlos and Donna – the owl box blessed so many lives, in so many ways, that none of us will ever know the full extent of what you started when you asked Austin to help you make Molly and McGee available to your mother. I’ll leave the eloquence to others (for now ;)) and just say thank you… thank you for giving so much of yourselves so we could take part in this incredible experience. My you continue to be blessed for all you have given us.

  41. Glenn Says:

Carlos, Donna and Austin, Thank you for all the fun times adventures and memories. We hope that you continue to post to the blog in your travels. I also don’t know if this is a final Lights Out! It kind of sounds like it but hope not. We all would like to see Molly and Mcgee this next winter with their next clutch. I now have my books and DVD’s, so I’m glad that I bought them to look at when we don’t have Molly and Mcgee Live on camera.

  42. preyfan Says:

Gonna miss the “sights and sounds” at the owl box…all good things come to an end. Hope everything is alright at the Royal household. (Will the camera come back on when/if there is a new clutch??)

Funny how attached one becomes to a couple of owls on your computer screen…

  43. mandozee Says:

Hay Carlos & Donna, Hope your planning another trip to somewhere fun? Just wanted to say thanks for all the fun and good memories and time you have given us. Please keep in touch, I for one will miss you, and the owls also. mandozee1888

  44. SARose69 Says:

It was with great sadness that I read today’s message, but I do understand how much you have given to us already and do not begrudge your wanting to move on. Gee it’s been fun and I was part of it! It has been such an intimate part of my life that it is hard to imagine getting up and not having Theowlbox to tune in to. The Dr. Seuss advice was spot on: “Don’t cry because it’s over. Smile because it happened.” I am smiling through my tears.

  45. Such a HUGe undertaking this has all been, for you and Donna. Give her an extra big hug from all of us, for her patience at “losing her husband” to the owls! :)
Carlos, your dedication to your goal of getting your grandchild into college represented nothing less than proof of your love for Austin. As a grandmother of 3, I know that kind of love and fortitude to see them succeed. You must be very proud of his accomplishments.
God bless you and your family as you “get back to a normal life”… one we chatters took advantage of every day. You have inspired so many of us with your thoughtfulness and knowledge. I will be forever grateful for the experience.
Molly & Magee touched me and I can’t tell you how much I thoroughly enjoyed being a part of it.

With a caring heart, thank you!

  46. Cathy Glueck Says:

I fell so fortunate to have experienced all the owlbox offered it’s fans, the opportunity to chat (for the first time), to make friends all over the world and country, the knowledge of barn owls and most of all the warmth and wonder that is Carlos, Donna and Austin. Molly and McGee will be missed but I am so lucky to have been a part of it!!! Safe travels to the Royals and to Austin, good luck in all you do! I’m pretty sure this isn’t a final goodbye, just an “until we meet again”!!! Thank you!

    Cathy Glueck

  47. Napaelle Says:

    It has been a HOOT!
I have more than 700 photos to enjoy as a slide show remembering M & M and the kids and I thank you so much for them. I have many other items too and thank you for making those happen.
I go back to the first egg hatching from the first clutch and am feeling so grateful for all I have witnessed and shared. The first group of folks have remained as my favorite. We learned so much didn’t we….who knew we would be so happy for dead critters to arrive for dinner.
Thank you Carlos and Donna and I look forward to continuing to follow you on this blog.
From Napa, California we join in saying “it was fun, and we were part of it”
    Happy Trails to everyone!

  48. Amanda Says:

What a fun and incredible ride this has been! Thank you so much Carlos, Donna and Austin for giving us this experience! You have been incredibly generous with your home, your time and your talents and it is very appreciated by so many people.
I’m so glad to have gotten to moderate with such a great team and have made so many friends in chat that I’ll never forget. Love to all,

  49. Ruth O'Neil Says:

oh Wow! How do we thank you, Carlos and Donna! I have made dear friends through this our shared love of the owls. It has been a once in a lifetime experience. I hope we can all stay in touch! Thank you again so very much.

  50. You’re kidding aren’t you, Diane? They are habitual, they will always return to that box as long as its there, camera or no camera. Now they will have a private life! If you have withdrawal, you might check out other Ustream coverage of owl boxes – there are some. Not with all the stories and joy of the Royal’s, but owl lives none the less. We are in an amazing technological age for such things.

  51. Rosemary Says:

I want to say how sad I will be when the cameras are off, but
my gratitude for all the months that you, Donna & Austin have
spent sharing this wonderful M&M adventure, won’t allow me
to be any thing but thankful.

Carlos you have given us the most marvelous experience by
allowing us to watch Molly and McGee, and their families. I knew nothing about owls before M&M, and now I share all
kinds of information, along with millions of MODs.

Carlos and Donna, you have given up your planned travels to
share the owl box experience long enough, and I, for one,
wish you both happy travels, wherever you may go.

Please drop in once in awhile, and say hello,…. we love hearing from you… You never fail to put a smile on my face when reading your posts.

The Royal Family is a very, very special family, as is the
    Molly and McGee Family……

Thanks for EVERYTHING Carlos and Donna.

  52. Elizabeth Sprague Says:

Thank you so much for all the happy times we’ve had in your backyard at the owl box. I know that you want to get the RV on the road again, but please will you broadcast next January when the eggs will be laid for the next clutch. You have all those wonderful new cameras that give awesome video to watch. please Carlos??????? (((Hugs))) ~Elizabeth~

  53. sldausch Says:

  54. Nancy Says:

There are not enough words in the thesaurus to express how much I appreciate all of you who have made this experience so memorable, fun and educational. I can’t imagine my day without McGee and Molly, let alone Carlos, Donna, Austin, Eric, Vacadude, Chris and all who made this so special. Sure there are other owl boxes but this box is different, it was more about family and that is what I will miss. I’ve met wonderful people in the SS and chat room from all parts of the earth, I will miss that too. This has been a treasure I won’t forget and will look to my pictures, coffee table book and my DVD to keep my memories close. I will read the blog and look forward to any updates I can get. Not only have I been blessed by this owl box but my students have had the chance to learn from it as well and for that I am so grateful. To the Royal family I admire what you have done for all of us and recognize all the hard work and time you have put into sharing M & M. From the bottom of my heart and my deepest respect …. Thank you!!!

How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard -(Annie)

  55. Madonna Varchetto-Bonner Says:

Wow, I’ve come to love Molly and McGee and the Royal family so much…like losing a part of my family. Enjoy life! Love to all, Madonna

  56. Ericka Says:

I was hoping this was just for the winter and you would be back in the spring. But from reading the posts I am getting the impression it is for good. I will miss you all and getting to check on the owls from time to time. What an experience you gave us Carlos. Enjoy your next endeavor….and think of us all once in a while, we’ll be thinking of you!
    Thank you!

  57. Virginia Magboo Says:

    Carlos, Donna, Austin,
My first communication post “Irene” (I’m in New England) is to say you’re right, there are times to say goodbye, to stop doing something that was so neat, appreciated, and simply wonderful! I wish you all well. I had become fond of Molly and McGee. They filled certain needs in me, and all “unconditional” since I could give them nothing! Still, I am a romantic, and I wish them well also!

  58. Ericka, I wouldn’t judge by the various comments made by others. Carlos did not say he was never coming back. Let’s be really happy with that. There’s a slim glimmer of hope! I believe he and his family must follow their yellow brick road, and see where it leads them. Who knows?

  59. Linda King aka Braveheart2665 Says:

  62. moniq50 Says:

So sad to hear the owl box will be gone :( but you do have plans and travels to make. This will be always home to me, so i will be checking in daily.
I will keep my fingers crossed that if and when Molly and McGee decide to make another family, we can watch yet another clutch! The good part would be, there can be another DVD in the making :)
Thanks for the memories, and I sure hope there will be more to come. Please keep us posted on our Molly and McGee, they are of course our #1 barn owls that we came to love and adore. I will miss seeing my favorite owls in the morning with my cawfee in my Molly and Mcgee cawfee cup. (of course i have my DVD’s to watch, and my owl books to look at, but just won’t be the same :(
    Enjoy your dreams to come!
Hugz to you, Donna, and Austin

  63. Wolfgirl44 Says:

Sorry to hear about it, I’ll miss the box.

  64. Carol Watt Says:

Carlos thankyou for so many memories of Molly and McGee. The lessons learned will never be forgotten. You put so much work into the Owl Box and no other can hold a candle to it. Donna thank you for all you have shared with us and for sharing this adventure of one in a life time. Such an endever takes a partnership and what a pair you make. Austin wow what you have accomplished and I know there is greater adventures to come. You have fantastic grandparents who love and encourage you to greater hights. Keep up the good work. Now Carlos and Donna enjoy you new adventures and each other. If the Owl Box turns the lights on again I will be there to learn and enjoy, if not that is alright also though sad, but what a thrill and knowledge we have gained. Again thank you and God bless you and your family.

  65. Ann York Says:

Carlos and Donna, Thank you so very much for sharing these beautiful treasure with us. Molly and McGee have been a joy to watch. You have created a wonderful family of friends through your generosity. You ALL will be missed. Thank you!!

  66. Jane Brunzie Says:

I just checked on the chat room and blog and discovered the sad news that this wonderful experience is coming to an end. I have been following this wonderful gift that Carlos and Donna have given us since I discovered a little article in the North County Times just as Molly laid the last egg in the first clutch. I became a lurker in the chat room and spent many, many hours reading your interesting conversations. I have a house full of M&M stuff, clothes and all the books. Also a husband that will probably kill me if he hears the Molly Song once more. :-) I met many of you at the last picnic and although I know this has to end sometime, tears are running down my face. I imagine I am like many of you who didn’t know anything about owls or even much care until this fantastic gift that the Royals and Molly and McGee gave us. I hope that if they come back next winter that the box will still be empty and waiting for them and we can have a peek at the next wonderful fuzzy clutch of precious little creatures. God Bless all of you wonderful owl watchers! I love all of you!

  67. Kate Says:

Carlos, is there any chance that you, Donna, and Austin might consider having another San Marcos picinic next summer? Many of us would love to have the opportunity to finally meet all of you–and Vacadude too. It would be something great to look forward to over the coming months. We thank-you so much for all you have given us and wish you the very best!

  68. Marny Says:

DalesMelody here … thanks for the memories.

My decision to buy the books and DVD was a good one – a wonder-filled gift to myself and to my daughter for her classes of 5th graders.

    Gentle as you go,
    from Vista, CA

  69. Sunny Says:

I have been here since the first time…thanks for so many memories of Molly, McGee and their families. Thanks to you Donna, Carlos and Austin. You have given of your time and life to us to have a look into the wonderful world of owls.
I will always remember getting up in the middle of the night to just check in and see what the owls were up too!!
So much to say a mere Thanks just doesn’t cut it.

    Be blessed

  70. Liela M. Maielua Says:

It will be another sad goodby but we understand that you & Donna have a life of your own. You have both given so much to the world by sharing this wonderful experience with all of us. It saddens me so to know I will never see Molly & McGee again but it has been fun and as you always say I was part of it. You & Donna are wonderful people and deserve to now go out and have some fun.

  71. AnnInSDtoo Says:

    Dear Royals,
Thank you for all the wonderful times you provided for us through the magic of Molly, McGee, the Owl Box and technology! Your love and kindness shines in all you do – see Austin for confirmation on this! You are wonderful role models for the rest of us on so many levels. May God bless you and yours, and keep you safe. Your generosity provided great joy for so many of us out here. See you around the EBar!

  72. Linda Brown Says:

Thank you for the wonderful years with Molly & McGee. I will always remember these days and it feels like I’m losing some of my family, including posters, Carlos, Donna, Austin and of course Molly and Mcgee. What a sad day that will be, but I’m glad I got my DVDs. If you ever decide to turn it on again, I hope it comes in a notice to us – love you all.

  73. JKW Says:

Thank you so much for your patience, your time and your caring for us. I appreciate you and Donna’s warm hearts and friendship. Blessings, JanKW

  74. Colleen Poor Says:

Thank you soooo much Carlos, Donna and Austin for all the hard work, the interruptions to your lives as you shared these two owls and all they’ve done just being themselves. I will truly miss seeing Molly’s sweet face and McGee’s handsome look-that white chest just pushed out like “gee look at me!”. I loved going to the second picnic and my girlfriend is so looking forward to putting up the framed picture she won when her house is finished with the remodel. You’ve given me a gift by searching out other birds as they raise their young as well so this won’t be the last chapter in my watching baby birds being raised by their parents. I will miss the antics of the owlets and Molly’s steadfast care and of course, McGee’s legs ;-) Please keep us informed as you are our friends. I wish you God’s blessings and much joy in your lives to come and I can’t wait to see Austin’s name sometime in the future as he’s directed a project :-) Thanks again! And to quote you, Carlos, “GEE THAT WAS FUN, AND I WAS PART OF IT!”
    Colleen Poor (ColleenMP)

  75. joly2u Says:

Carlos, any chance, with the fabulous cameras, equipment and setup you have, that you will turn on for the spring clutch? We are still extremely enthusiastic and hopeful, being quite in love with the particular family of barn owls and so appreciating what you do. And the whole world is still benefiting. Is there room for hope?

  76. Cathy Messer Says:

Carlos, Donna & Austin, Thank you for the wonderful ride and I’m glad I was part of it! No one will replace what you have done for the world of Owls and Molly & McGee will always be the bestest ever!! I am glad I have prints, CD’s, books to remember the love I had for all of them. You will always be fondly remembered, you gave us all so much of your time and it was very appreciated and Thank You ever so much for the wonderful gift of Molly and McGee! Enjoy your retirement and know you will never be forgotten! Love to All….. Cathy

  77. prettyrose44 Says:

I didn’t want to read Molly’s Box when it came in today because of the subject line. “Lights Out” sounded so final. I hope not! The Royal family and M&M have become so much a part of many lives that they just can’t abandon all of us. We will look forward to hearing about their travels, Austin’s school, how Ashley and Spencer are doing, further news of Molly & McGee and when ever Carlos wants to share something with us. That is something to look forward to! We miss you already!

  78. Carolyn Frasier (Tink) Says:

    Carlos, Donna and Austin,
You have awakened a love for barn owls in this old southern gal. I am so happy to have had the opportunity to visit with Molly, McGee and all their little owlets over the past year and half. When I first friended Molly on Facebook and took a peak at the box, she was caring for Max, Pattison, Austin and newly hatched Wesley. It was a difficult time in my life and yet I was encouraged by this little owl family. I figured things would be OK for my family and me, because seeing Molly on her little brood reminded me of how God cares for me whether I deserve it or not. And McGee made me laugh loudly! Laughter is indeed good medicine! Thanks again, Happy Trails and may we meet again, either in the virtual or real world.
Keep flying free!…Love, Carolyn (Tink) from the Social Stream

  79. Joy Kilroy Says:

I also want to thank you for our sweet Molly and McGee and their precious “babies” happy memories. As we all here agree, “Gee this was fun, and I am glad I was a part of it.”

Though I understand and am truly happy for you and your family, my heart sings a song of sadness as you turn the lights out on Molly and McGee….thankful, though, that I was able to spend many hours enjoying all of Molly’s clutches.

Wishing you God speed and happiness, I am
one of your true Molly Obsessives ;)

Hope you will send updated newsletters once in a while.
    Joy K

I will thank you for all the wonderful times in the Owl Box. This experience has been a life-saver for many people. Best wishes to all of you and my love to Molly and McGee. ldgreene123

  84. Carlos,

  85. Kathie Utt Says:

I kind of knew that this day would come but was in denial for a long time. It saddens me to know I will not see Molly & McGee probably ever again and not have the Royal family interaction that I have come to absolutely hold near and dear to my heart. I wish you well and want to thank you for some of the fondest memories I have. I hope our paths cross again some day and wish you, your family and of course Molly & McGee health and longevity. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!! Kathie

  86. Sue Couch Says:

Thanks for the ride,Royals and Austin. I will miss these majestic and beautiful owls so very much. They are members of my family, as are you. I’m so glad I have the DVD’s, some tiles and a coffee table book to reconnect with this magical world. If you ever get an urge to turn on the cameras and broadcast over KOWL, Carlos, I hope you will do so. I’m sure you’d have an ever grateful and excited audience.

Thanks a million for an awesome, awesome experience.

  87. whitedog01 Says:

    Dear Royals,
Words cannot express the joy I have found from watching this remarkable pair of owls.. You brought such joy into all of our hearts.. Thank you for allowing me to be part of the journey. Many friendships have been made in the chat room and outside the chat room.. May you be blessed with many great things..

a friend is like a flower,
    a rose to be exact,
Or maybe like a brand new gate
    that never comes unlatched.
A friend is like an owl,
    both beautiful and wise.
Or perhaps a friend is like a ghost,
    whose spirit never dies.
A friend is like a heart
that goes strong until the end.
Where would we be in this world
if we didn’t have a friend.

    August 29, 2010 – Free Goodies

A year ago, Chris Adams (rocketman) and Carlos and Donna Royal came up with the idea for some free goodies so that everyone could enjoy visiting the official site for Molly the Owl on Cafe Press – even those with no funds could have fun! That site is full of great things to buy, too! Over the past year new free “stuff” was added for all to enjoy! While you have time, you can download these free pdfs and have some fun!

My Molly Watcher Motto comes from what I learned here – “Continue to spread the word to share the ‘Good News’ of the lessons learned, of the love, of the memorabilia, and of the links from The Owl Box of San Marcos, California”. And for me the Molly Motto will always be “Gee this is fun, and we are a part of it!”

Our Molly the Owl human and “un”common barn owl families are like the great ocean waters and the air that we breathe, which are not stagnent, but are in constant motion, and different at each moment in time – ever changing, ever present, unpredictable, but with patterns we can observe – always there whether we see it or not!

Ever Grateful ((hearts, smiles, and hugz)) and glad that only the cameras will be Off Air until they are On Air again. Owl Box Recordings on Ustream remain for all to enjoy!

  89. mandozee Says:

Just a thought: If any mods and friends of M&M want to keep in touch we could set up a conference room using Yahoo Messenger. We can also use Cameras and microphones to talk, see each other and play tunes. My Yahoo ID is mandozee1888

    Donna, Carlos, and Austin,

My, what a wonderful experience you have given the world! I wish you many blessings as you go forward. Donna and Carlos, you are wonderful, selfless people; now go and enjoy yourselves! I will never, ever forget you.

Austin: keep in touch, honey; we all wish you the very finest for you. What a terrific start to your career this owl cam turned out to be for you!!

    Love you,

  91. Julie Says:

Ok- I wasn’t going to get all teary-eyed this time, but WhiteDogs poem did it to me! How perfect is that poem?

Thanks Carlos and Donna (again) for all of the good times and many, many laughs! Enjoy yourselves on your travels and please be safe. We want you to come back home safely so you can turn the cams back if you so desire! (wink wink) I think I heard McGee finally give in to Molly last evening for Clutch 4!

Good luck and thank you to Austin also! Have a blast in college, and, of course, study hard!

    : )

  92. linaz Says:

I can’t thank you enough for the wonderful experiences we have all had here on the Owl Box. Carlos and Donna and Austin have been extremely generous with their time, their cameras, their kind natures, and their love of birds and animals. I think we have all had a good dose of love and companionship here. Will miss our owls but hope that they may perhaps, once again, return to our lives. But if not, I wish the Royal family well and wish them Godspeed on their new adventures. with sincere thanks, LINAZ

  93. Colleen Ireland "IrisheyesCanada" Says:

Oh my goodness……thank you Carlos, Donna, Austin, and Molly, McGee, and owlets!!!! It has been so much fun and I am so glad I was part of it. I hope you enjoy your adventures and Austin your studies. What great memories you have left me with and many others also. I am so glad I have the books and other momentos to remind me of this wonderful adventure you have given us. Thanks again, and never “goodbye”, just “see ya later”. It has truely been a slice!

  94. Virgene Colby-auntie_vee Says:

Thank you Royal family for all the wonderful times. I wish you much enjoyment for any plans you have for the future. Just received my new CD of Austin’s and that, at least, will be a perfect ending to this amazing adventure.

  95. Susan Buchart Says:

Has anything happened to Molly or McGee?

  96. CAequuslvr Says:

Not only have you touched one heart and life here, but you have touched the world. “Thank-you” seems so inadequate for such a wonderful, miraculous, spectacular adventure. There are so many others more eloquent than I, so I will just say that everything they have said is the same for me.

Carlos & Donna–Enjoy your travels. I will look forward to your blogs and hope to vicariously go on those many trips along with you.
Austin–I know we will see your name on the credits of some major productions one of these days.

To those ever present, patient, tireless, knowledgeable, wonderful, caring moderators–You are the very best.
To those chatterz who were so creative, giving and caring–You expanded my world and experiences.

Well the tears are really flowing now, but I am so very, very glad that this happened at all.

    Everybody–Take Care & Be Well.

  97. Dear Carlos, Donna and Austin,
I want to thank you so much from the bottom of my heart for once again sharing Molly and McGee with us and for all the fun times. I have followed your broadcasts since first clutch and am heartbroken feeling that you may not be doing so in the future as I’m not sure what you meant by the Owl Box becoming a memory of the past. Your update came so abrupt and final and I can’t help feeling a little sense of worry if all is well.

Carlos, I would hate to think that we may never see that sweet smile or hear your voice of yours broadcasting again. Watching Molly and McGee has become such a part of my life and they bring me great joy and happiness and always something to look forward to when the day don’t go so well… it’s like a big ray of sunshine. I was so looking forward to winter in hope that we would be able to watch Molly and McGee start clutch four from start to finish. I know there are other owl sites to enjoy but there is no comparison to the fun we have had with you and your broadcasts. We are like one big owl family and I feel blessed to have had the opportunity to know all the wonderful people to have come together here at the
    Owl Box.

I pray that you are not leaving the owl Box closed down for good and that you are just needing more well deserved R&R and travel time and not because of something that has upset you all. Please know that you are all loved and appreciated dearly. Please don’t leave us for good!
May god Bless you in all your new adventures whatever they may be.

    Sending love from Colorado,
    Pam W. (a.k.a. CastOwLRockCoL)

  98. Judy Sackson Says:

I really don’t know what to say now, it has already been said so eloquently by the most constant group of bloggers I have known. Hopefully we will still be getting news of the Royal family and those special owls that we all love so much through our much-loved and much-appreciated blog.
Carlos, Donna and Austin…..only good wishes for your trips and adventures in the future. It has been a wonderful ride, and I have evjoyed in thoroughly.

Carlos, Donna, and Austin…I am so sad to hear this, as are the other MODs…I’ve been a MOD for 1 1/2 years now…Molly and McGee are my first owl loves and my favorites. We’ve laughed and cried together…as we watched them and their adorable clutches. We’ve shared our lives and become forever friends. This whole experience has been wonderful and magical….and so unique that it’s hard to explain to a non-MOD. Please stay in touch…hope to see and hear from you again…and Molly and McGee. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart…words can’t even express what you and the owl box has meant to me. Lynn

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Royal, and Austin Faure,

Thank you for sharing the Owl Box with us. You really spoiled us with the exceptional technology, the professional DVDs, the incredible coffee table books, and droll web parties. No wonder we are so sad about letting go. Molly, McGee, and the babies captivated us, and all thanks to you.

I hope your days are filled with laughter, smiles, endless sunrises and sunsets, and the love you cultivated for us in the Owl Box.

  113. Marilee Godsil Says:

Carlos, Donna, Austin and all who were/are a part of this experience: I began watching (actually quite glued to) this wonderful story since 3/2010. I was losing my marriage because of infidelity, my father was very ill and I lived through an illness that the Dr. said he’d never seen someone before me be brought to the ER alive. You and all the wonderful MODS and nature lovers throughout the world were/are the positive and loving friends who have made me stronger and are supporting each other because of of “a common barn owl”. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Marilee

I can’t tell you how many difficult days in my life were made so much brighter by being granted such a close-up glimpse into the lives of Molly & McGee and their owlets. The “sights and sounds from the Owl Box, San Marcos, California” held such joy, humor and yes, even sorrow. But something about seeing nature so close up made me appreciate how precious life is and how blessed we all are, no matter what obstacles we face. Thank you so much for your educational commentaries and for sharing such a large part of your time and treasured love of these owls with us, Carlos, Donna and Austin. Sincerely, lodi7girl.

  122. Jennifer O'Hara Says:

    Dearest Carlos, Donna & Austin,

Well, I guess it’s goodbye time again. This is so painful. I will miss our M&M terribly – as I will all of you. I love my new coffee table book and Austin’s new DVD. They are wonderful! But nothing can take the place of the gift of watching our beautiful M&M and their babies. Thank you so much for all you’ve done and all you’ve given so many of us. I hope this goodbye is not a “forever” goodbye. If it is final, thank you again, and I wish you all the very best life has to offer. I will never forget you. My own life is better because of you and our beautiful owls.

dear carlos, donna and austin–i’ve read every blog entry..ever..thanks for the laughs and all the info–i’m concerned with this one–back on the 13th when we were awaiting the 21 millionth viewer you were talking about how molly and mcgee stay near their owl box to guard it and that we could probably see one or the other in the box each day–how exciting that was!! i’m troubled because by the 28th we learned of the (what seemed to be) sudden closing of the owl box–i hope that your decision was due to traveling or something positive–not anything negative–i still remember back in january when you told us about certain events (untruths spread by certain persons, threats, etc) that caused you to close. i would be greatly upset if you and donna and austin were treated with anything less than the utmost respect each of you deserve. i pray that your health is optimum and that, too, was not a reason for your decision.

you, and everything that you’ve done have brightened my life and i can’t thank you enough. the coffee table book, the second clutch, both dvd’s, a silver charm here and there, etc.

my very best, and i keep positive thoughts that in the near future you may reconsider..please see clear to update us with the blog entries from time to time.

thanks so very much for the wonderful molly and mcgee and families!!!

With (((hugs)) and < 3 's twoclubs jane
