    Hi Carlos and Donna,
A lot of nervous Nellies out here, as you know. (including me!)
I’ll be watching at 11 PM EST. Can’t wait!
    Thanks for all you do.

  2. Donna Says:

Hi Carlos, I’m a nervous nelly too. I’ll feel better when I see Molly tonight!

  3. PegRod Says:

Oops – that is Astronomy not Astrology – lol

  4. janie2 Says:

I’ll be there before 10pm central time. We will all be excited to see our Molly and see her and McGee relate the events of the day to each other. I’m sure there will be lots of kissy face. Come on, Carlos, allo preening is not sweet enough for the love birds. ;-)

    • carlosroyal Says:

I agree, from now on it will be kissy face, allopreening is way to technical. Back in my day it was smooching. I wonder just how many replacement names we can come up with to describe allopreening. If you have one, let us know.

  5. PegRod Says:

Okay, Carlos Challenge – Remember this chorus to an old tune? Just change the month from June to July! You can Google the first line to find it.

“By the light, of the silvery moon,
    I want to spoon,
To my honey I’ll croon love’s tune.
Honey moon, keep a-shinin’ in June.
Your silv’ry beams will bring love’s dreams,
    We’ll be cuddlin’ soon,
    By the silvery moon.

(Made popular by Doris Day and others)

  6. PegRod Says:

“Moondance” (Van Morrison), is another good tune for McGee to sing to Molly, under the Full Thunder Moon of July, in between the kissy face allopreening!

“Well, it’s a marvelous night for a moondance With the stars up above in your eyes A fantabulous night to make romance..”

This creative artist embraced new words, like Molly fans do – fantabulous!

New viewers may not be aware of the Owl Box Lexicon (2nd edition) – it might help you understand some of the new chat words and language created to have fun and to describe what is going on. Free pdf download (Adobe Acrobat Reader) is found here.

    PegRod Posting Challenge!

I will be sent to Banned Camp unless some more people post a few comments to match me! But I do have one more thing to share.

The setting and adventures of last Sunday’s Story Time with DotRot on VacaChat was Carlos and Austin’s Field Trip and video adventures in spotting the wild common barn owlets in the hollow of the giant Sycamore Tree in the “Hunting Fields” of San Marcos, CA. Even the gophers get a mention, but as always, Carlos is one of the “characters” in this imaginative round-robin style story made up by Molly chatters that day, taking turns in chat typing a story line. The story is usually read on camera live an hour later by Zorro the Mouse puppet (and VacaDude). John “VacaDude” Atkinson has a rare talent for improvisation and reading without rehearsals!

Story Time with Zorro – Fast forward to 33:00 for the invented story about Vinky and Vobble (the virtual owlets who kept us company while Molly and McGee were away) and the owlets in the Sycamore Tree

For those who missed the “real live video” of the Field Trip, with Carlos Royal and Austin Faure, you can watch this highlight. The full length video is in the Ustream “carlosroyal” Archives!

  9. Mary Beth/St. Louis Says:

Today, I watched the “Love is in the air…” video. It occurs to me that McGee looks very much like male Prairie Chickens doing their courting dance. (I’m sure you can find a video clip online somewhere).

What woman can resist a man who can dance?!
Being handsome doesn’t hurt anything, either.

  10. Rosemary Says:

I received my 2nd Clutch Coffee Table book the other day,
and have finally found the time to look at every picture, and
read every caption… Oh what a treasure.

Carlos, your photography is beautiful, and with Eric’s words,
    the book is fantastic…..

Thank you so much for everything you have shared with us
    of Molly and McGee.

  11. Katy Says:

Just wondering..seems like Molly has been itchy/scratchy the last couple of days! Hope she doesn’t have buggies buggin’ her!!!
thanks for this Carlos. Love it!!

  12. Joy Kenney Says:

can’t wait to keep up with these two cuties!

  13. Cathy Glueck Says:

I received my book also and just love it! There is no way to pick a favorite picture because they are all fabulous! Eric’s words, captions and quotes sent chills up my spine and brought tears to my eyes! Reliving memories of Ashley and Carrie was wonderful as they were my “1st Clutch”! Thank you again Carlos, Donna, Eric, Austin, John, Vacadude and Barleycorn for one of the best experiences of my life!!!

  14. Vera Says:

I received my 2nd clutch book, and I LOVE it. Thank you to everyone who had a part in it, job well done, good memories.

  15. flukestail Says:

For Molly & McGee (re-lyrics to the song, “Smile”):

Bond, it is time for mating,
Bond, ‘cause your Mods are waiting,
You’re in your box all the day,
    Have your way…

If you bond, there will be no sorrow,
    Bond, and maybe tomorrow,
We’ll see some eggs start coming through,
    For you…

Light up the chat with gladness,
    You take away our sadness,
    Seeing you two
    Is so special to view…

So, it’s time you must keep on trying,
    Bond, sorry for our prying,
We’ll wait here till the sun will dawn,
    If you… just… bond.

    • PegRod Says:

I agree with you Sally! That was a great presentation which Carlos Royal gave at Mira Costa College in Oceanside, California, on July 22, 2011, with the help of Donna and
Austin off camera. The main recording is found in the Ustream Owl Box Archives (for complete list search for “carlosroyal” and for the orginal outside videos search for “donnaroyal” in the Ustream search bar and sort by date or most views, etc.)

VacaChat 100th Broadcast Special on Ustream
    July 24, 2011

John “VacaDude” Atkinson, creator and host extraordinaire, puts on a landmark show to celebrate. Included is Zorro the mouse puppet who reads the round-robin story created by chatters just hours before -“Mamma, It’s Hot” (adventures of Vinky and Vobble the Virtual Owlets continue with characters from The Owl Box of San Marcos, California). Pdfs of two seasons of stories are found in the “news” section of VacaDude’s Molly and Family “Laughing Outside the Box” website – search for “” to find it.

Always in the spirit of Molly’s Motto – “Gee this is fun, and we are a part of it!”

  25. PegRod Says:

Missing Carlos? You can hear that famous KOWL voice during this recording from July 28, 2011 (7:59 pm), as Carlos discusses various topics off and on as you watch the evening sunset and on into the darkness of the San Marcos night as Molly & McGee take off. You can pull the bar along at the bottom of the video if you want to Fast Forward.

There are lots of great recordings to listen to! On The Owl Box Ustream page, the new tabs above the Chat or Social Stream box allow you to find links to the most recent recordings under “Videos” tab – or you can scroll down to the bottom of Ustream page to find the most recent recordings, as well as some “Highlights”. Be aware that these links are considered “Pop ups” so you may need to allow “pop ups for this site only” under “Tools” in your internet browser menu, for example, on mine it is next to “Favorites” etc.

  26. catmama Says:

I’ve been away for a few weeks and when I went to check on the box tonight there was no chat. What has happened to it?

    • PegRod Says:

catmama – chat is still up and working most of the time, except for occasional Ustream disconnects. For the last few days chatters and moderators seem to be busy or away with summer stuff.

Also with all the massive worldwide internet changes going on, some people are having to figure out how to renavigate all the signing in, allowing popups, and generally figuring out how to make it all work – change is not easy! And there appears to be “A Whole Lot of Computer Horking Going On!”

Sometimes, I think people are just waiting for someone else to talk first – the waiting game – so if you chat to yourself about what you remember and think about The Owl Box people might eventually get the message and join you! Just an idea from me, one person.

    July 30, 2010 – Glowz is Becoming a Star

For those not familiar with The Owl Box characters, Glowz is the name given to the “female” spider that kept weaving webs across the camera “Lenz” and under infrared light took on that supernatural glow of a super-worldly creature. Carlos provided, in this blog entry, a close-up photograph of a likely type of spider, not the one from The Owl Box.

New viewers – Ask in chat for the link to The Owl Box Lexicon (2nd edition) – it helps to learn some of the names and backgound. You can also find it as a free pdf download (Adobe Acrobat free reader) on the Molly the Owl Cafe Press site.
