Bluebirds Fledge

June 12, 2011

Austin has graduated and the Bluebirds have fledged. That has got to be a good sign.

I was asked why I didn’t post in advance that I was going to broadcast his graduation. Simple, I never even thought about it until I was sitting at the graduation and I got my iPhone out to make a call. Wam! It hit me, why not broadcast it? So I did. Believe me; I did berate myself for not thinking ahead and bringing my new iPad which would have made it much easier. Also, have you ever tried to hold a phone steady for an hour? I finally got smart and moved down closer to the stage but had to get on my knees so as to not block anyone’s view. All I could think about was “can you speed this up,” as my legs were going numb. I hope my pain was worth your enjoyment. Actually, it was one of those, “Gee, that was fun and I was part of it,” moments.

Have a great day,

Carlos, Donna and Austin

Carlos, I was moderating during the time of Austin’s graduation, figuring you and Donna would be there. We had 139 viewers happily attending Austin’s special day thanks to you. I had no idea you did it spontaneously and thought you did it for your mom/family who could not attend. It was above and beyond for you to strain yourself for an hour, but I can say everyone watching was thrilled to share in Austin’s accomplishment. Thank you! I got a couple of screencaps for those who weren’t able to watch. http://www.flickr.com/photos/30690443@N06/

  28. Oh Carlos, you are something else. I went to peek in on the blue birds and low and behold they were calling Austin’s name. It was such an exciting moment. We do so appreciate your doing this for us. OF course we all feel that Austin is a huge part of our family too. (And he looked so handsome in that red dress). lol. Fledge Austin, you have big things ahead of you in your future. We are looking forward to the next DVD and seeing Molly and McGee again. Take care and Carlos and Donna, thank you seems so inadequate for all you have given to us. The whole world loves the Royal’s.

  29. marie Says:

It has been exciting around here, too. We have a hawks nest in a pine tree in our back yard and at least two are fledging and trying out their wings every morning. Mom was teaching them how to hunt this morning and one was practicing his owl hop exercises! (pouncing)They seem most active every morning, so I am not surprised the bluebirds fledged early in the mornintg, too.

  30. Deb Says:

That was a wonderful surprise to watch the Graduation!! I figured it had been a last minute decision as you always notify us know when an event is taking place.

I had missed the bluebirds fledge by about 20 – 25 minutes. Was glad that it had been recorded so that I could watch the replay.

Thank you Carlos, Donna and Austin for the best Ustream site on the web.

We watched and the recording but it finally run out without seeing the third baby leave. Thank you Carlos for recording for us. Does anyone now when the third baby fledged?

  36. Kevin Says:

Hi Carols: Just wondering about M&M. After we started to watch the Bluebirds we didn’t get any updates on M&M wether they started a new clutch. After the owlets fledged it looked like M&M were in the process of moving back into the owl box to start another family.
