Kelly We Will Miss You

August 17, 2010

Owlets In The Sky

When I got up this morning and logged on one of the owlets had died and Molly had consumed it, which is the owl way. They do this so no predators are attracted to the nest box.  What we do know is all the owlets were getting plenty of food and that summer heat has not been an issue as San Diego continues to experience one of its coolest summers in 74 years. I think that John (Vacadude) Atkinson’s drawing really says it all, even though this was drawn during the first clutch.  When we watch nature we soon realize just how quickly life can disappear…In a heart beat it can be gone.  We are saddened by this event but we celebrate that The Owl Box still has 3 healthy owlets.

Carlos, Donna and Austin

P.S. Kelly we will miss you.

Kelly, you are flying now with Dudley in Heaven and are the wind beneath our wings.

  8. Lisa Says:

It serves no purpose to speculate what may have happened or why…it is nature, and that is the way things are. We will miss Kelly and grieve for all of the M&M family. Let’s focus on the miracle of life that remains and enjoy this experience for all it can show and teach us.

  9. Becky Says:

Big hugs to Carlos, Donna and Austin. This sketch by Vacadude is appropriate indeed. Thanks for all you do, Royal family.

  10. Nancy Brown Says:

Thank you Carlos and Donna for sharing this great experience of nature. There is nothing predictable but all things wondrous in the discovery of our natural world. You have all of our thoughts and best wishes. The chat room on the spo site overflows with compassion and sharing as we follow Molly, McGee and family.

  12. Deb Says:

Hugs to all at this sad time. I’m truly grateful for the opportunity to watch nature as it happens here in the owl box. Thanks you so much!

With that said, I’d like to add that I was awake all night watching the owl box and Kelly had already passed and been consumed before McGee arrived and the other three were stepped on. Many who were watching with me will concur. Kelly hadn’t been okay for a couple days, so maybe she just wasn’t thriving? It happens in nature. Though we’ll never know for sure, and I agree we shouldn’t speculate, I just wanted to add my eyewitness account.

Thank you again, and God bless from a long time Molly watcher.

  13. Tarsie Says:

When I logged onto facebook early this morning and saw the post at about 3am your time, I was stunned. But, you are correct,Carlos – this is the way of nature. And the odds were against all four making it. We shall rejoice in the time we had with her and celebrate the three that are left.

  14. Kirk Says:

Kelly has flown into our hearts and will always remain…….

  15. birdlovers4ever Says:

I am so sorry Carlos and Donna – yes it is sad, but as you said we still celebrate the three that remain.

  17. birdlovers4ever Says:

I feel the strongest for little Molly. She looked so dazed when I last saw her in the owl box this morning… bless her heart.

  20. Theresa Says:

Thanks for the gift of nature at it’s best, we are very blessed to have shared this event sad may it be. Happy times are ahead for Molly, McGee, and all of their followers. Thank you to the Royals for opening thier life to let us take a peek.

  21. Susan Belloff Says:

Thank you, Carlos, for posting the picture and for your explanation. Even though we are all extremely sad at losing an owlet, Molly’s story is reality and in the life story of a real owl, something like this was destined to happen. It doesn’t make us any less sad but it does make us realize we have been given the chance to observe nature as it truly is. Thank you, Royal family, for giving us that chance.

  22. Sharon Johnson Says:

Thank you so much Carlos & Donna for sharing this experience with us. I am so sad today, but I too understand that this is natures way. Kelly is part of our learning experience. I will continue to celebrate the owlets that have survived as well as all Kelly’s siblings.

  23. D.S. Langguth Says:

:( Yes, I do believe in Owl Heaven. Vacadude does say it well. I have a tears in my eyes and a sad heart. Kelly’s spirit was only meant to be with us for a short time.
We must rejoice in the fact that M&M have been doing a great job as advocates for owls, birds and nature.

  24. Linda Brown Says:

So sorry to hear about Kelly’s early departure. She will be missed, such a beautiful little baby. But she will remain in our hearts forever and be a part of this wonderful event with Molly. Vacadude’s painting is awesome and very touching. RIP Kelly! And thank you Carlos and Donna for sharing this wonderful experience.

  25. triggerfish61(Janet) Says:

    Donna,Carlos,and Austin
So sad to hear of Kelly’s passing but as you always say Carlos nature is not predictable and we must go with the flow. We need to be grateful for the 3 healthy remaing owllets we do have and enjoy their antics and the fun is yet to come. we must always remember Gee this was fun and we were part of it all of it. My condolences to our wonderful parents Molly and Mcgee as well as her older and younger siblings. But Kelly is stil flying high above us all with dudley who now has a family in heaven.

  26. With a little modification, what my teacher told me many years ago is very appropriate: “All little owls fledge, just not all on Earth.”
    Fly free, little Kelly!

  27. Kim Says:

Our Kelly was with us but a short time yet brought us immeasurable joy. You will be missed dear Kelly but now you take flight and watch over us all..

  28. Jodi Says:

Lots of love to you the Royal family. I believe that she has her halo and is looking down on us from above!

  29. MutherNature Says:

Nature can be brutal but Kelly would more than likely have suffered if he/she hadn’t left to join Dudley and Punk.

But Molly still has 3 owlets to care for.

So glad to be part of this, twice no less!

  30. Tresbien Says:

Fly away free Kelly — You brought us joy in your short life.

Thank you, Carlos and Donna, for bringing us this event with all of its joys and sorrows. We will cherish our owls and owlets even more in the days ahead.

  31. kit Says:

  33. Deb Lay Says:

Our dear little Kelly.. Who knew that such a magnificent little creature could touch our hearts so deeply in such a short amount of time. Fly free little one. We will miss you but you will always be in our hearts!

  34. Bo Says:

    Carlos & Donna,
Sad day but you both bring so much joy to us.
thanks for all, your insight and caring.

  35. Janice Grassmeyer Says:

It certainly brings a tear to the eye to hear about Kelly but we are lucky to still have three owlets. Sometimes we place such human emotions on wildlife that it makes it that much more difficult to loose them to Mother Nature. Life is tough and life in the wild even tougher. I will keep good thoughts for the success of the remaining family and continue to enjoy this chance to see life in the wild.

  36. catperry aka CatsMommy Says:

I, like several others, were awaken by a feeling or a sensation and then we came to the computer, opened to Molly’s owl box to learn about the death of an owlet. The spirit brought us to the chat to comfort and be comforted. I am numb but I am blessed to have been apart of seeing nature in its real spirit – the circle of life. I pray that Kelly and Dudley and the unnamed will fly freely in heaven, until they greet their mother and father and syblings again when nature determines that too.
Blessings on all the MODS, moderators, Molly and MeGee and their children, Carloe, Donna, and Austin, all … GEE this was not fun but educaitonal, and I was apart of it. AMEN

  37. Pamela Says:

Yes indeed, we will miss Kelly. I will look up to the sky more often today.

  38. Nancy Says:

Today, my heart is heavy and the owl box just a bit more quiet but as life goes on, so will the other owlets and so will we to rejoice in watching those that survive grow and thrive under Molly and McGee’s wonderful parenting.

Thank you so much, Royal family, for the opportunity of being a part of something so wonderful and wonderous.

  39. Jannae DeSiena Says:

If you trust in fate, this was meant to be. Nature takes care of itself, even though it’s difficult to understand sometimes. Time heals, and watching the three other little owlets grow and become beautiful adult owls will be a joy for all of us! Thanks, VacaDude, for the tenderness of your drawing. And, thanks Carlos & Donna for sharing these precious owls with us.

  40. NightFeather Says:

I will miss you Kelly and hold you close to my heart! Carlos and Donna, my heart may be heavy right now, but is enlightened by all that you have done for us!

  41. Kirk Says:

    That perches in the soul,
And sings the tune–without the words,
    And never stops at all,

  42. babybeluga Says:

So sorry to hear about Kellys passing. Rest assured she is riding the wind beneath all our wings. Molly, Mcgee’s and all the owlets. Carlos, Donna and Austin’s. And all the owl watchers she will be missed. Bless All

  43. francie bowers Says:

Dear Carlos & Donna, I also was shocked to log on the box this morning and hear the news, but soon you came on…the voice of comfort and reason!! thanks for playing the owl songs and for the ‘hand holding’…I am a little bit ashamed that I needed it since I do understand about nature, but thanks so much!

  44. FinnWV Says:

The loss of little Kelly is being felt around the world! Flying high and flying free, little Kelly, always in our memory! So sorry for Molly, McGee and family, Carlos, Donna, and Austin and all Molly Watchers everywhere! As heavy as our hearts are right now,we are so fortunate to be a part of this experience! There is no other like it! Thanks again Carlos and Donna for sharing your hearts and your lives with us! Thank you John for the beautiful picture! Yes, we will miss you Kelly!

  45. Patsy Says:

Carlos , I just saw ur post . I’m so sad that we lost little Kelly ! It really brakes my heart : (
I too notice , during the day , how Molly was trying not to step on the littler on , trying to get way from the older ones, so she could eat !

    I guess thats Nature !
    A very Heart Sadden

  46. Superdadu Says:

The Starr Ranch lost their smallest owlet from the first clutch this year. The dried up carcass was found at the back of the tree cavity after all the owlets fledged. It just could not get in position to get to the food with all the bigger siblings in front. They can be stepped on or pushed out of the box in the rush to get the food.(one reason why Carlos’ porch addition to the owl box is so important) I have read that the birds will even “remove” a chick when food is scarce. Any owl scientists out there to give us other reasons and clarify this info?

  47. linda Says:

There is a new star in the heavens

  48. deb Says:

I too am saddened to hear of Kelly’s passing. For me, it is a reminder of how blessed we were to have a perfect first clutch, and another reminder to never take anything for granted. Molly was so incredibly tender, right down to Kelly’s last breath, and wasn’t Kelly lucky to have such a wonderful mommy!

Fly little Kelly…. Fly to the heavens to meet up with Dudly. You truely are the wind beneath my wings…

  49. Rita in DC Says:

    TY so much, Carlos.

–Rita in DC, AKA bluenoter in Chat

  50. Jodi (nostrebor) & dd Mia Says:

Thank you Carlos for providing us with the information. Losing something or someone we have come to love is difficult. We have wanted all the owls to not only survive but thrive. Nature is nature and we have to find our own way through grief. Molly and McGee are great owl parents and have 7 great owlettes. Thank you for sharing the Owl Box with us.

  51. Ann C Says:

Well said, Carlos. I love the drawing–it is comforting for us today.

I continue to appreciate and enjoy the amazing opportunity to watch Molly, McGee and their babies.

    Thank you,
    Ann C.

  52. Margie Says:

i have never watched any live hatch event before, and little Kelly was my first! i haven’t been able to tear myself away, it has been so facinating, and now so sad. I know this is life, but it is so sad.

  53. Theresa Atkins Says:

My condolences to the Royals and the mods on this sad occasion. It’s always hard to lose a young one especially due to an unfortunate accident. I’ve been watching Molly since the 1st clutch and marvel at how caring a mother she has been.

I know that Kelly’s spirit is with Dudley and the Punk siblings having a great time and I’m sure that they do not want us to be sad rather celebrate the joy they brought to the world.

    Vista, CA

  54. Ricki Says:

Oh no………I have tears running down my cheeks and we just barely got to know sweet Kelly. I know nature can be unkind…..sadly this had to be Kelly’s story.

  55. flwrpeep1024 (Deborah) Says:

So sad, esp. after following the first clutch from the start. Beautifully said Carlos, Donna & Austin. We are saddened, but joyful for the first clutch 4, and these 3 beautiful, healthy owlets.

  56. Jim Shoemaker Says:

    RIP, little Kelly

  57. Donna Simonson Says:

Kelly is now the whisper of the wind and closer than we know. Such a tiny little one who gave us so much in her few days of life. Tonight at the owlbox her light will shine down upon our world and her owl family. Our Molly continues to be an all incompassing mother taking care of those lost and those who need her most. Carlos and Donna, I and the world cherish each day and event at the Owlbox in San Marcos. Your gift of providing viewing within the owlbox of Molly and McGee can never be repaid. We celebrate nature’s gift of Molly’s family and the Royal family. Blessings to all as we look to the brilliant light of Kelly and Dudley! Love, hugs and prayers, “OwlLuver” Murrieta, CA

  58. Lisa Tye Says:

I woke up feeling “funny” this morning, then tuned in to see what Molly and her babies were up to. (I had resisted the urge to check on them during the night). I feel so sad over Kelly’s death, and my heart goes out to the Carlos family right now. Thanks for bringing us the gift of Molly, McGee and their little family.

  59. Lisa Tye Says:

my heart goes out to Carlos and family right now!

  60. Gerrie Says:

Hugs to the Molly family around the world who Love Her and her family.

  63. Teri Trickey Says:

Dear Carlos and Donna, I’m so sorry that this happened to Kelly and you already said it beautifully what could be said. I so appreciate having this view into nature and I’ve become so attached to Molly and McGee and all their babies. We have been so lucky to have the first four survive and go on to be adult owls. I’ve watched the hatching of each of the babies of this second group, either live or on tape, with such joy and amazement. Thank you for bringing this world to us and I’m thanking you also for letting my students see the whole life cycle of a barn owl. It is not always easy, but it always touches the heart. Thank you again for all you do and thank you to Molly for being the most gentle, dedicated owl mom.

  64. Nora (couleedam) Says:

The wonderment of life, unfortunately also includes situations such as this. Instead of trying to find out the cause, we should concentrate on the positives of the Owl Box and “care about the world around” If each one of us would donate some time or money to a charity of our choice, in memory of Kelly, just think what a difference we would make.

Bless you Carlos, Donna, Austin and family, and thank you again for the opportunity to share this experience with all of you!

  65. Lajollaseal Says:

Carlos, So well put. Although this is nature, we have all come to enjoy ‘our’ little owls and owlets. Rest in Peace Kelly.

  66. Nancy C Harp Says:

We will all miss Kelly but she will remain in our hearts forever. What joy she brought us in her short life. Fly free Kelly, we love you! Thank You, Carlos, Donna, and Austin for sharing her life with us.

  68. Pamela Hope Says:

    Dear Carlos and Donna
We will all remember today that the smallest of God’s world has great importance. Kelly will be missed by so many and she was a part of a wonderful experience that we all share. She will forever fly above us all. With great joy comes a little sorry, we are so happy you have chosen to share these sweet special owls with us. Thanks for the life changing memories. I believe in the Rainbow Bridge, the wonder of the world and happiness we all share. Tears of happiness and sorrow are shead today.
Gee this is fun and I am a part of it.
Pamela and Edward Hope love the Royals

  69. Ingrid Welch Says:

Such a sad morning when I logged on to find little kelly had passed away. It is amazing how attached we humans can get to Gods creatures. I find myself in tears today at the most awkward times every time I think of little Kelly. Pretty embarrassing when shopping at Costco.
I so want to thank you Carlos and Donna for the opportunity to witness wildlife in its true beauty. The happiness and the sadness are all part of natures way and I am grateful to you to let me be part of it.
    With sincere and loving thoughts;

  71. SR Dryja Says:

I’m so sorry to hear about Kelly. I truly appreciate all that Carlos and Donna have done to make the experience of watching Molly and her brood accessible. I also appreciate how gentle but realistic Carlos was in reminding us all about the reality of nature with this sad loss.

    Blessings to all,
    SR Dryja

  72. susan Says:

Hard to believe Molly would have injured the young owlet given how careful she is around them. I wonder about parasites, or just failure to thrive – it happens for no apparent reason. Anyway we are all sad but also glad to continue to learn the owl way.

  73. Janetniu Says:

We have become so attached to the lives of a Common Barn Owl family that sometimes we fail to realize that what we are witnessing is a rather uncommon experience for most people. Watching life unfold inside an owl box, especially during the first Molly and McGee family, was without incident – no real tragedies (from the human perspective). We were sad when Owlivia’s two owlets died and were so very grateful that Molly’s owlets remained healthy and fledged. Death in the animal kingdom is very common (that is why so many wild animals have multiple offspring) but this does not make it easy for those of us who have grown so fond of Molly and McGee. We grieve for Kelly because of our closeness for this owl family but we do not grieve for all the other wild animal babies that die every day because we have no frame of reference to them – they are not part of our personal world. So, let’s gain inner strength from Owl Box viewers who share a common fondness for Molly, McGee and their second brood of owlets. Life is too short to think otherwise.

  74. Bonnie Hafdell aka jacumbaowlwtchr Says:

Precious little Kelly in now with our beloved Dudley. May they both fly happily together in heaven.

  75. Cindy McNash Says:

Godspeed, Little Kelly. Have fun flying free with Dudley, and Punk.

  76. Kitty Carlyle Says:

    Dear Carlos, Donna and Austin,

My heart is breaking over the loss of our dear baby owlet, Kelly, as I am sure yours are too.

We all know this is nature. It’s just hard to witness in person as many of us did last night, especially to creatures we love so dearly.

Thank you all for everything you do for all of us MODS and the world. :)

Kitty Carlyle on FB & SS

  77. Carol Ann Bossemeyer Says:

Donna, Carlos and Austin in my small way I hope to comfort. Love to you all.

    Fare Thee Well.

I have no need to question this.
I need not doubt the day.
    I am too busy believing,
    Hope will find a way.

    Molly is still loving,
    Her precious little three.
    Lift up upon the wind.
    Glide safely and love free.

    Food is in the pantry.
    Wings gather all around.
    Little mouths a callin’
    How I love that sound.

    Mama’s eyes are watching,
    Papa’s in the tree,
All’s well within the owl box.
Please watch and wait with me.

    Little wings are flappin’
    Three are growing strong.
    Life really is in order,
I will not question what went wrong.

Time to rise and greet the day.
There is loving left to do,
    Hold my wing and smile,
    We’re connected through and through.

  78. Brenda Redman Says:

    Carlos, Donna, and Austin,

You have added so much joy to my life!
The owlbox is mesmerizing, to say the least.

We shall all miss little Kelly, but are so blessed to have the 3 remaining owlets; to watch them grow and make us laugh together.

Take care and God bless you.

  79. This has broken my heart. Kelly/Kelli was the only Owlet that I was able to see hatch LIVE and that touched my heart like I never thought possible. You will truly be missed Kelly/Kelli. Molly, McGee, and the other 3 Owlets will continue to have my heart and I will always support Barn Owls no matter where they are. Thank you Carlos and Donna for bringing them into my life. Dudley and Kelly/Kelli are now together and flying around Owl Heaven.

  80. Jerri Weed Says:

    Dear Carlos and Donna,

Thank You for Bringing this Joy and Sometimes Heartbreak into our Lives. I know it is Nature and God that called upon our little Kelly but still hurts inside and also it hurts to see Molly hurting as well but Now we must try to Re-Joice that we have our Little Trio to Watch and Enjoy with Different Tears. Tears of Happiness and Laughter to Watch their Antics to come.

We will Never Forget you Kelly as you are Having a Ball with Dudley as I write this. Fly Free Little One.(Kelly) & (Dudley)

    Love and Prayers,

  81. Retiredcatlady Says:

Sweet little Kelly, my small feathered friend
your future seemed bright, now your light has dimmed.

We will never know the owl you could have become
we must accept the fact you were the chosen one.

I hope you are dancing in the clouds above
and finding new playmates, you are so loved.

Be on the lookout for others who fly high
so many feathers that have passed on by
leaving us to wonder, I want to cry.

    RIP little one.

  82. Rosemary Dearing Says:

My heart is heavy, and there are tears in my eyes,
but I am grateful for three tiny little owls who
will continue to grow and fledge with the help of
    Molly and McGee…

To the Royals and Molly and McGee, we love you.

  83. Deb Says:

    Donna and Carlos,

So sorry to learn of Kelly’s passing. When I first signed on this morning and read in the chat room about what happened, I couldn’t believe what I was reading at first. I became very sad. I know it happened for a reason. She will be greatly missed.

Molly, McGee and their owlets have touched all of our hearts. I started watching a few days before Max hatched from the first clutch. Their family have brought me many, many hours of joy.
I was so ecstatic when Molly and McGee returned and started their second family.

When I came home tonight and read the blog and saw Vacadude’s Owlet in the Sky picture that says it all. Beautiful!!!

Thank you Carlos and Donna for all that you do here on this site for all of us. The best entertainment there is.

    Love and hugs to all!!

  84. didinp Says:

    Life is a Gift

All life is precious and temporary.

We are sad with loss of one of the owlets but it is natures way and we must trust that.

    Peace and Love

  85. Sandra Benowitz Says:

Carlos and Donna, your words are so very appropriate.

I want to commend you for posting the video of Kelly’s demise. It furthers our education and understanding of a world that most of us knew nothing about previously. Since the beginning of this journey, we have learned that nature knows best, even though we might not like it.

Your owl box has given everyone such delight, and in our grief we celebrate the experience and rejoice in having so many healthy owlets. Molly and McGee have certainly beaten the odds.

  86. Molly & McGee are good parents and we still have 3 healthy owlets. I’m looking forward to all the smiles, giggles and belly laughs these little guy’s are going to give up in the day’s to come. The picture and comments from Carlos, Donna & Austin were very special. And yes Kelly I’ll miss you too.

  87. Becky Says:

Kelly is probably the most famous little owl in the world! She had such a short life here with us, but look at how many people’s lives she touched!

  88. Mary Jozwiak Says:

How sad! I will grieve for her. I was really hoping there would be four owlets again fledging. I’m sorry for our collective loss! Praying that the other owls will all be ok.

  89. Barbara Miller Says:

Although I am a newbie, only starting to watch since the NBC story aired, I have felt like a part of “the family” from the very start. Carlos, Donna & Austin, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for opening this “window” of opportunity for all of us to appreciate. Just like everyone else, I was shocked and dismayed to find out that Kelly has gone to a better place. Better that she moved on and is not suffering. My heart goes out to all of you. Let us rejoice in the wonder of nature and the family that Kelly left behind.

  90. deb Says:

Every one of God’s creatures make a difference in the world no matter how brief. Little Kelly is safe in her mother’s heart and in ours. We are so blessed to share our lives with these magnificent birds that all I can feel today is grateful. Thank you, Carlos.

  91. Debbie (IBINAZ) Says:

Rainbow Bridge seems appropriate today (we the owl family can make it work for our loss):

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run, fly and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.

The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together….

I thought for sure that it was Jody who had passed away, & I come home & find out it was Kelly.:( I hope that Jody will survive, because he/she was actually the one I was worried about.

I was walking my dog with my iPhone trying to get updates when I heard Carlos announce the passing of Kelly. I cried then, cried later on when I realized I wasn’t ready to view the box yet, and I cry every time I think about how sad Carlos sounded. I cried like this in June we the Royals said their good-byes and took the box off air. Since I cannot have children, the Molly and MaGee family are very important to me. With a heavy heart and too many tears, I say Kelly is watching over her family and all of us. Thanks to the Royals for allowing us to witness nature again, even if it is harder today. I hope to see you all in chat again soon. Love you guts!

Our sweet Kelly has crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Its with a heavy heart today I heard the news. May you be free Kelly and dance in the clouds with our beloved Dudley! We all loved you even though you were with us for just a few days! Bless you Carlos and Donna for giving us this wonderful experience. Valerie

Sometimes little tiny soft beings are called back to sit in the “Big Tree.”
For some reason God seem to take a special liking to this particular little one, and took her back for special lovings.

  96. Sherrie Says:

My condolences to all owl watchers, especially Carlos and family, and Molly and family. Vacadude’s picture was perfect, and Carlos, thank you for putting things into perspective. Thanks for giving us this unique look at nature. Sherrie Coughlin

  97. Susan / Suey Pit Says:

Wow. What surprising and sad news. I guess we were lucky that all four eggs hatched, but alas, even this batch of owlets has to have its share of drama and unexpected turns/events. Nature is not always the expected. Alas, nature allows the continuation of the adventure of life as well.

  98. Linda Stauffer Says:

I was very upset to hear about Kelly’s passing. We will never know what truly happened. Kelly is in heaven watching over everyone.

I’m so sorry to read about Kelly. I’ve been away for a few days…upon signing on I realized that there were only 3. My heart is sad for you guys and all of us who are watching these babies grow.

  100. Kim Gorman Says:

Carlos, even though we were on vacation, I checked in twice a day to see how the family was. When I saw your caption, “Molly and three owlets”, I knew something had happened and it was with great sorrow I read and watched some of the video of Kelly’s passing. Molly was so tender with her and as another chatter said, we feel for her anguish because we love her, too. I prayed for you and Donna and Molly and the siblings and all of us with tender hearts so affected by this. Yet, we also know how fortunate we are to be able to watch nature unfolding before our eyes and we are continually grateful to you, Donna and Austin for setting up and maintaining this wonderful experience. Bless you all.

  101. Liela M. Maielua Says:

Its truly amazing how such an event can tug so heavily on ones heart strings, everyone has become so consumed by Molly, Mc Gee & the owletts. As you said nature has its way and we have to accept it.
