Molly a star is born. Carlos, I live in North Carolina and the piece on NBC nightly news was spectular. I have followed since the beginning with Molly’s last owlets and was thrilled to hear you say the camera’s will be on with the third clutch next spring. I just received my DVD by Austin and can’t wait to watch tonight. Thank you so much for everything that’s Molly & McGee.
I t appears that our MOlly has turned into quite a Diva… On the night that you were turning the camera off after the children were gone and you had the For rent sign on the place, she reappeared and pretty much said “this is my place and here I am again”.. now this past weekend, when she heard that she was going to be on national TV, she said I must do something great so she hatched her egg… applause for Molly
Received DVD in the mail yesterday and was torn between watching that right away, watching the pipped/peeping egg, and watching Carlos and Eric Blehm on tape. Somehow managed to get all in before nightfall. Just seeing Molly in the box at the beginning of te DVD brought tears to my eyes. Needless to say, I love the entire DVD – Austin managed to include most of my favorite memories and provide a few more that I missed live, like Wesley being poked by Austin. Thanks to Austin and the Royals for providing this wonderful experience. Love to all.
It’s been such an exciting day, with seeing little Ashley hatch and the wonderful NBC story! We started watching the first clutch in early April so missed seeing the earlier parts of the miraculous process. So it’s been really fun to see all that with this second clutch.
Thank you SO much for bringing immense amounts of joy and learning to our lives!!! You are truly making the world a better place and making a huge and lasting difference.
Isn’t it amazing how this has all turned out–it couldn’t have been scripted more perfectly. The “KIDZ” were all happy and healthy, they developed on schedule, they left almost exactly to the day that you had planned to turn off the cameras, M&M surprised us and came back the last night of broadcast, #1 of the second clutch hatched the very same day that the NBC broadcast was scheduled, etc. This has truly been a fairytale story.
Amidst the chaos in today’s world, we all needed to be reminded that there is still SO much good, love, joy, peace, wonder, and miracles in this world.
I would like to ask you about the donated DVDs. Austin’s Web site said to put a message on the blog, so I hope I’m doing this correctly!
It was great to hear you say that the video making has been a really educational process for Austin, and that it has helped him to think more about his future goals and plans. I’m so impressed that someone his age could pull together the huge video project! You must be so proud of him.
By the way, here are some gender-neutral names for owlets, although I bet Donna already has all the names picked out: Robin, Jackie (Jackie Robinson), and Scout (the girl in To Kill a Mockingbird was Scout…lots of symbolism there, and barn owls “scout” around for their food).
Thanks again for all you do!!!

Hi Carlos and Donna and Austin – I would like to request that a DVD be donated to one of my MOD friends from the social stream who has been watching from the beginning. She has been unemployed, searching for work, for the last two years, not unlike many people in the last couple of years. These owls have helped to sustain her happy spirit, along with the interactions with owl friends on the social stream. If you find it possible, I would be grateful if you could send a DVD to her. This is her name and information.

Thank you so much for broadcasting to the world such wonderful story such as Molly’s. I found out about your site(s) by watching the NBC broadcast, and now I am a MOD! I have quickly realized how much work you have put into this project and am in complete awe. I live nearby, in Elfin Forest, and about 3 weeks ago, we found a barn owl on the steps in our pool. We fished it out, and it warmed up and flew away. I wonder now since I have found your site, if it was one of your owlets from the first clutch? I will have to do research to see how far owls will travel from home. Thank you for all of your hard work!!!
