Oh, Molly was a common barn owl, as common as she could be

She brought the world together through modern technology

Her owlets made us laugh and cry, and turned lives upside down

But the lesson that we surely learned was to care about the world around.

Molly, Molly, we watch you from afar

Molly, Molly how beautiful you are

Molly was a common barn owl, all speckled and golden brown

Her antics with ole Leggs McGee sent laughs around the town

McGee worked hard to feed their brood, and Molly was pleased it’s true

And the owlets quickly fattened up and then one day they flew!

Molly, Molly and McGee McGee

We so love to see you proud and free!

Thank you Molly Max Pattison Austin Wesley

Molly Molly Donna Carlos

Molly & McGee!

Ohhhhhh,

Molly was a common barn owl as common as she could be

She brought the world together through modern technology

Her owlets made us laugh and cry and turned lives upside down

But the lesson that we surely learned

Was to care about the world around

But the lesson that we surely learned

Was to care about the world around

The 4th grade chidren who did this should be so proud of themselves. What a great job, a beautiful song! I’m sure Carlos and Donna will cherish it. This song is the perfect way to end the Molly and McGee adventure. Thanks to a creative teacher and her fourth graders! Sure hope someone puts together a farewell video on YouTube using the song as background music. Everyone would love it, including the school children who have been faithfully watching the owlets grow up.

Wouldn’t it be fun to see Carlos wearing horn-rimmed glasses (owl-type) on his last appearence? How bout it Carlos?

What a great job! We heard it tonight for the first time. Beautifully done. I especially love the lyric: “The lesson that we surely learned was to care about the world around.” You are starting your students on the road to being caring citizens of the world, Barbara!

  11. Thank you to each and every one of you that made this whole experience possible. We leave this experience richer for the love given, bonded to the family we’ve made, and more respectful to the world given and shared by Mother Earth. We of all ages, have experienced immeasurable personal growth.

What a great fun song! Congratulations to the lyricist, beautifully done. Don’t know about the tune, but if original – also wonderful and fits the lyrics! Great job, 4th graders and teacher. And yes to all the comments above. This family of owls has taught us and continues to teach us about our connections and the responsibility of caring for one another. Note that they kill for food – period. And even that appears to be quickly and efficiently most of the time.
Let us all “care about the world around.”

I teach PreSchool, and my students have been very excited and loved watching Molly,Mcgee and the babies. It was a great science project. They made pictures and art projects of Molly. We heard the Molly Song several times and we all love it. Is there any music being sold that I can purchase? If so Where? If Molly comes back next year will it be broadcast? My thanks to Carlos and Donna for the fabulous job that you did. I think that my husband and my I watched and enjoyed even more than the children did.
